Reflections
When I first started my senior project I didn’t know what to expect. I was slow getting started with my mentor, but she helped me a lot with my paper and my product/event. One of my biggest problems with my research paper was actually doing the research. It took a lot of time to find a credible source that fit my topic with quotes I could use in my paper. I didn’t have much of a strategy but just searching through the internet trying to find sources. I liked doing it while being around other people so I wouldn’t get bored. There were a lot of interesting things I came across, but one thing that interested me was the fact that playing sports could have such a positive impact on your GPA, and the more that you played the higher it was. This is what I liked about the project, learning new things everytime I did research about my topic. I feel in the future I can continue to raise awareness about the effect of socioeconomic class in sports and also raise money to help people participate. This project also taught me that Islam can be brought into every topic in life and we can implement it in everything we do. Something I would do differently with this project and would advise next year’s seniors to do differently is to not procrastinate - that was my number one problem. I would give myself an 80 percent for this project just because I turned in a lot of the assignments very late and wasn’t responsible enough about being on time.
